Re: v7.11beta [testing] is released!

Thanks — timeout= in /terminal/inkey now works again!
I can confirm it's working for me also, I can finally use the inkey command in my scripts that otherwise would get stuck waiting for a keypress. I think it was broken since RouterOS v7.3.

Re: Newsletter 108

The following quote is pretty contradictory in particular if you pay attention to that the ATL low band antenna gains at those frequencies are below or equal to zero: That rules out the ATL for me, which looked very promising at first having seen the video earlier. I currently have the Chateau 5G w...

Re: v7.6beta [testing] is released!

This beta10 version is giving me DNS issues with certain domains such as Amazon and YouTube with MikroTik Chateau 5G. In the Winbox Terminal, the DNS look-up gives strange errors about invalid MAC and IPv6 addresses (my ISP Three Ireland is IPv4 only). This issue also occurs when I use the Google DN...

Re: v7.4rc1 is released!

The terminal inkey timeout parameter bug remains since reporting in the 7.4 beta release. This parameter worked fine up until v7.2.

For example,/terminal inkey timeout=5does not timeout after 5 seconds and just waits endlessly for a key press.

Re: v7.4beta [testing] is released!

The terminal inkey timeout parameter is not working since around v7.3. In a few scripts I have that loop until a key press, they now get stuck on this command, endlessly waiting for a keypress. When I run the following command on a MikroTik Chateau LTE12 on v7.3.1 stable or a Chateau 5G on v7.4beta4...

Re: Chateau 5G and not getting data

With an Irish Vodafone prepay phone SIM, "Use Network APN" needs to be disabled for it to work properly. It's worth trying to see if this also works for Vodafone UK PAYG: Winbox -> Interfaces -> LTE tab -> LTE APNs button -> Double-click "defaullt" (or the Vodafone entry): Vodafo...

Re: Can Chateu12 LTE be used as a wireless access point?

In the Quick Set menu, there is a "Home AP Dual" option that will configure it as a Wi-Fi access point with the LTE functionality disabled. However, as mentioned above, this defeats the capabilities of the Chateau12. I suggest getting a pair of outdoor LPDA antennas for the Chateau12, whic...

Re: MikroTik Chateau 5g modem firmware update

The RouterOS v7.1rc4 has fixed the built-in cell monitor, which now displays more neighbour cells. I didn't realise how slow the built-in cell monitor is at refreshing the readings until I compared it against a script I wrote as a workaround during v7.1rc1/2/3. From testing the cell lock command (th...

Re: MikroTik Chateau 5g modem firmware update

Hi, where did you get these infos about antenna ports switch? I found out from my own testing. I tried figuring out why one of the carrier aggregation bands got so weak after the firmware upgrade. The RG502Q-EA documentation mentions that antenna ports 4+6 (on the modem) are for second MIMO on the ...

Re: MikroTik Chateau 5g modem firmware update

There was just typo in the firmware upgrade name - the firmware is correct. Thanks for confirming this. Pity Quectel didn't mention about switching antenna ports for connecting a 3rd carrier for 3CA as I would have held off the firmware update until I got time to install the additional antennas out...

Re: MikroTik Chateau 5g modem firmware update

hi how did you update? is the name of the file you got from quectel support is this "RG502QEAAAR11A04M4G_01.001.01.001"? I used the built-in firmware update commands as shown in the screenshot in post 12 . Unfortunately, it was only after Salvot2990 mentioned that I noticed the wrong mode...

Re: MikroTik Chateau 5g modem firmware update

That's annoying - I did not notice that. From checking what it installed, it appears to have installed the RG502... however, it certainly is behaving different to the previous version. Chateau 5G current firmware.png I can also confirm what I suspected about 3CA. I wired up ports A4 and A6 to the sp...

Re: MikroTik Chateau 5g modem firmware update

The firmware upgrade command is now working on my Chateau 5G, at least for me: Chateau 5G firmware update working.png Unfortunately, this new version does seem to want to connect in 3CA for me or very briefly. :? With the 11.03 version, it consistently connected in B20+B1+B3, using B20 as the primar...

Re: MikroTik Chateau 5g modem firmware update

I get the same error on my Chateau 5G:
Chateau 5G firmware update error.png
This also occurred with the previous V7.1 beta 6 Router OS

According to Quectel, the latest firmware for it is RG502QEAAAR11A04M4G. My router has the A03 version.

Re: v7.1rc1 [development] is released!

The LTE cell-monitor now only shows 3 to 4 cells on my Chateau 5G with V7.1rc1. In the beta versions up to V7.1 beta 6, it showed around 10 cells including the cells it is connected on. This means when the Chateau 5G is connected in 3CA, it now only intermittently shows one neighbour at most for eac...

Re: Feature Request: Ignore any split-second lte link down state

Thank you very much for clarifying that, something I wish I knew about back when I bought the LTE12 model. I did not know it was the masquerade action that was causing this. Even when I created a support ticket with MikroTik, they insisted that there was no way to prevent the router clearing its con...

功能要求:忽略任何瞬间lte链接down state

从我购买LTE12城堡,我甲肝病毒e not been able to use it as a router. Every time the LTE connection goes down for a split second (which can happen several times an hour), it breaks all active TCP connections, i.e. downloads, video calls, etc all freeze or drop out. Up until now, t...

Re: Chateau LTE12 cell lock LTE link flapping with CA

Unfortunately, MikroTik support would not offer any further help and said that the SoC OEM claims that my issue is due to weak signals. They also said they could not do anything for the link flapping as they do not officially support the use of cell lock. Like your observation, I have noticed that t...

Re: Chateau LTE12 cell lock LTE link flapping with CA

Since contacting MikroTik support about 2 months ago, they did some remote diagnostics on my connection, but it's now a few weeks since their last reply, which was last month to say they were working with the modem manufacturer. I also asked MikroTik if there was any way I could get the router to ig...

Re: Chateau LTE12 cell lock LTE link flapping with CA

I posted my issue on that Quectel forums thread and got a response to e-mail their support the log. Unfortunately, I got a reply saying I've been put through to the wrong support channel and that the e-mail support request needs to be generated from their customer MikroTik. So I will try contacting ...

Chateau LTE12 cell lock LTE link flapping with CA

I have a Chateau LTE12 with firmware v7.0beta8 and am connecting to a cell approx. 53km (33 milles) across a bay with a pair of outdoor directional LOG antennae. The cell (Three Ireland) operates on band 20 (EARFCN 6300), band 3 (EARFCN 1275 and 1700) and band 1 (EARCN 525). I can connect on band 20...
