Re: Winbox2 and Winbox3 Differences pertinent to Windows10

You could have waited a few more years before asking... I no longer use WinBox2 2.2.18. 3.39 is better and have all previous problem fixed. The old feature (which one can say is not a problem to be fixed but considered as a downgrade?) is not in the new WinBox3.39 which for me is the biggest issue ...

Re: Winbox2 and Winbox3 Differences pertinent to Windows10

Hello rextended, I would love to know how you got Winbox2 working on Windows10? Maybe you had not tried to do a reboot? as then you will notice that one cannot click the responding Ok button you get with the reboot menu, it does nothing. Also error messages that come up with an Ok button also not cl...

Hi there Imi, I use exactly this Huawei BBU15-D-T with its 4x 1.2vdc Nickel Lithuim easily replaceable click in cells for the Mikroitk hAPac2 with both radio WiFi's enabled, 5 ethernet ports in use and works great! Lasts about 4 hours or so but don't quote me on the 4 hours, could be a bit more from...

Re: Dude causing massive packet loss/disruption of service

I have the same issue that I notice that suddenly for 30 to 60 seconds I will loose complete connectivity to a remote Mikrotik device which is in the exact same network as my Dude system, this is not via an internet provider internet line. I can still login with Winbox to the connected neigbouring M...

Re: AF5x ethernet on MIkrotik problems

I have had the same problem with these AirFiberX devices too. The UBNT AF5X have an issue with both their ethernet ports, all socket RJ45 golden pins normally have a slight concave shape so that it sits nicely contacting the RJ45 male plug gold contacts, but in the AF5X AirFiber5X they are bent 180 ...

Re: The Dude monitoring packet loss?

Good way is to keep an eye on this rain fade issue, I would suggest implementing some sort of Smokeping throughout your network to compliment the Dude as such, a program such as MultiPing.com for Windows PC is very cheap and has a great graphical representation and a weeks historical data you can ch...

Re: CAKE, FQ-codel etc, which ROS7 queue is best in your testing?

Hi guys, I do not have customer complaints of slow internet (100's of clients) due to one device downloading and hogging all allowed speed limit. This as I use Mikrotik version 6.x customer client router with a combination QOS via Mangle for VoIP and total Queue queueing that dynamically per millise...

Bug issue: Too much text in 3 or more comments interfaces causes wlan1 to disappear from interface list

I have this issue that the wlan1 interface disappears when I put too much text into the interface comments fields, see attached supout file (typically I put my wireless scan results in the comments fields and occasionally get big enough to cause this issue). This issue is reproducible by pasting in ...

Hi, I am looking for IoT products LoRa sensor devices in the 867 to 868Mhz. I see the TG-BT5-IN and TG-BT5-OUT listed on your IoT products website but guess these are not 867 to 868Mhz. Do you have any such 867 to 868Mhz loT sensor devices, or are they in the pipe line planning (future)? D.Beckmann ...

Re: Winbox2 and Winbox3 Differences pertinent to Windows10

Winbox V2 does indeed still work with the latest 6.x OS. The issue "Missing RouterOS WinBox plugins" is a known issue when using a MAC address to connect, repeat a few times and will adventurously get the plugin and or use the IP address instead which works first time. In any case I have f...

Re: RB1000 maximum L2TP sessions ?

Question Mikrotik, Is this limit of 60 to 80 user still valid as of Feb 2021? And maybe if you could mention a reason as to what issue occurs when one does try hundreds of L2TP server sessions in a Mikrotik? I can imagine some users business expands over time and this limit gets overlooked until thi...

Re: Why is nv2 so much slower than 802.11?

What I miss here in these Mikrotik comments about 802.11 being faster on a point-to-point link is the any mention of distance. So for sure any distance under 1km then 802.11 is faster, but when getting into longer 10km links then you may be better trying nv2, as I suspect because 802.11 is not built...

This info I got from Mikrotik Support should clear it all up. LHG XL 52 ac LHGXL52ac antenna dual band has 5dB less receive power than other 27dBi LHG antenna (designed like this!) Re: speed issues - what I am doing wrong?

nstreme and nv2 tend to work better for more than 1km (0.6 miles). So under 1km you should try to use 802.11 and the with the Wireless Distance indoor setting, not the dynamic then, all be it with 802.11 the distance setting on dynamic seems not to make much difference under 1km. Guess under 1km (0....

20km Point-to-Point 5HPacD2HPnD-XL or LHGXL52ac has 5dBi less gain due to antenna construction dual band design

Does anyone else have this experience? I have just bought 5 of these Sept 2019 released antenna's LHGXL52ac that have a max 30dBm Tx radio power with a 24vdc factory supplied adapter. Has anyone experience with the unit not being able to reach the full output as I have a link where one direction has...

Re: LHG XL 52 ac - How does the advertised bonding/failover work?

There are 2 ways to achieve fail-over, Mikrotik has setup the simplest method in their LHGXL52ac factory default configuration, that is then RSTP (STP tab) which is a system that toggles (switches) itself between available interfaces in its bridge. So the RSTP is designed to stop looping, the RSTP i...

To come back to the need for Giga ethernet interfaces: What most people do not realise is that telephony requires a very low ping response time so as to prevent echo on a call. This can be achieved by having giga ethernet interfaces, as every step in the link helps, and helps a lot. (25 years teleph...
