Running 2 BGP Full Routing Table here and 2 additional regional table on a CCR1036-12G-4S and after upgrade from v6.38 to v6.39 I noticed some CPU usage decrease. Previously one CPU core was always 100%, now with v6.39 it fluctuates between 85-95%. Also power consumption is down by almost 1Wh (this ...
BGP session resets even if you change comment assigned to that peer. (and this has nothing to do with session other than pure information for the user) (tested on CCR v6.35)
More details on purpose is like this: schema.png Consider I want to access some oversea website hosted on ASN400. Normally if I set BGP weight greater than 0 on session ASN02R1 then outgoing connections to ASN400 will be made through ASN02 via ASN200 which is a longer path than via ASN01R1. Neverthe...
Dear Mikrotik team, I find useful, considering best path selection algorithm, the option of altering BGP origin in BGP Actions section of routing filter. Why i think it's useful? Because after the shortest AS path criteria there is no other way to alter route preference between two different AS peer...
通过替换三个设备只有一个图d we will have full power redundancy because two sfp's being powered by device itself (which in turn is dual-powered (even three as i understand)).
做anybody know if SFP+ port supports also SFP modules (1,25gbps). I would like to replace actual config (RB1100AHx2 + 2 gigabit media converters) with 1 CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+ and 2 SFP modules.
telnet or mac-telnet is the best choice in such situations. You should try that until you succeed, it's your best shot. Otherwise what are your alternatives?
I suggest you redo the tests but this time use a Macbook connected to the wired interface and one connected wireless for Skype. When the issue appears try to connect from the wired one by ssh or telnet and issue "system sup-output" from console or try to connect by using MAC address with W...
eben i agree to disagree. Different people means different needs. So different network admins or different network locations require different hardware and features. Again your logic is like "A car should roll from point A to point B. Nothing more!" Drop the air conditioner, drop the car s...
-1 I think it's a useful feature in some special conditions (like hosting a smb server on top of a mast which is 70m high, with let's say: btest for windows, putty or winscp in files shared). With your logic same is for: why having a firewall on a routing machine? why having a QoS enforcer on a rout...
You can switch to Layer 1 and provide dark fiber to clients if you are using fiber optics or use EoIP tunnels. This way clients will be completely isolated from your network.
Zyxel ES-2024 support something which is called "port based vlan mode" different from 802.1Q. In port based vlan mode a vlan has meaning only on switch unit. You can select what kind of vlan to use in Basic Settings->Switch Setup->Vlan type set it to Port Based. Then you can go to "Po...
OSPF is a link-state routing protocol by design. You can check definitions here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Link-state_routing_protocol and here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OSPF . As stated there it is supposed to remove the route from routing table when interface is disconnected (and also it's no...
There is no such script as MAC address is an essential component of layer2 functionality. If you hide MT's MAC address then you will lose connectivity with MT. The best you can do is to implement in front of MT a layer2+ switch (such as Zyxel ES-3124) with ARP guard to filter out intruders. Be aware...
Hello ajmacias, I'm trying to build a configuration exactly like yours, meaning a number of customers (saying 64) connected to a RB750 by PPPoE which is connected by OSPF to a main core router. I am curious about performance issues regarding RB750 CPU power. Is it able to handle that much PPPoE sess...
That is not an option because both ISP providers require maximum aggregation per announced prefix. ISP2 even require that announced prefixes to be /23 minimum, to establish a BGP peering. If i manage to negotiate with ISP1 to accept at least /24 then yes, this would be a good option as a more specif...
Please help me load balance incoming connections for the following BGP scenario: 2 ISP providers - 1 MT core router - LAN on MT there are 3 eth interfaces: wan1 - vlan8 - BGP session 1 - default route received - 2 prefixes and 1 ASN announced - 50mbps - vlan16 - BGP session 2 - 18.000 national peeri...
Address list works perfectly in CIDR notation. I'm currently using cidr in add lists on v3.30, 5.6, 5.7, 5.8. Perhaps there is something wrong elsewhere (firewall rules maybe).
To answer your questions: - no, on router2 you don't need a srcnat rule in firewall, because you are routing the 1.1.1.0/24 address space to internet and not masquerading it. - in router1 you only need a static route: /ip route add disabled=no dst-address=1.1.1.0/24 gateway=172.16.0.2, so that route...
Do you need to use ROUTER2? Because it would be better if you get rid of it from the network topology. meaning: CARRIER--------WAN-eth1-ROUTER1-eth10-LAN------Customers If you cannot loose ROUTER2 then i suggest using a /30 private address between ROUTER1 and ROUTER2. For routing you simply add an i...
This is a simple problem of search and replace in any text editor, you don't need a scripting language to accomplish that. Here's how i did it: I inserted a separator column (filled with a unique text) once every original column. After that i saved the file as a csv file and opened with http://notep...
There is no explanation for this behavior. Please post a more detailed description of your setup (switches, version of ROS, is it x86 platform or RB). Also try a bandwidth udp test to see if there is a bottleneck between the client and ROS Hotspot.
thanks for the tip, zervan . others should also check if there are no attacks on your router at the time of the problem. high CPU usage is also suspicious. remember also that in v5.7 there is a DHCP server bug, where it causes high resource usage if it's on a disabled interface. this is fixed in v5...
Anyone had any issues upgrading the routerboard bootloader firmware? It took a couple of tries on some other units but I have a 450G that's not taking the upgrade. It says it is, but after a reboot it's still the same. I haven't had this issue with previous versions. The same problem i am experienc...
Same problem here. A 45/45mbps fiber connection capped with simple queue at 24mbps. On laptop tests are running fine (45/45), on RB750 download is at 24mbps but upload is at 9-10mbps.
I will try with dummy rules in firewall, and after that i will let you know the results.
If there's any help here is result of a telnet to port 80, and then just hit ENTER: HTTP/1.0 400 Bad Request Connection: close Content-Length: 113 Date: Sat, 09 Apr 2011 11:16:50 GMT Expires: 0 Error 400: Bad Request
LOL, fixed bandwidth test in webfig.... Yep, now can't get into webfig at all.... Good fix... which model of router? what happens exactly? any errors? send screenshot to mikrotik support please Happens on RB433 and RB750. Can't get in Webfig page. After clicking Webfig icon in welcome page, i...
