Upgraded RB4011 from 6.44.3 to 6.45.1 - no issues Well, actually there is one - the bridge MAC address has changed so the network discovery on Windows must be done again. I encountered a strange issue recently After my debian 8 linux image was upgraded, the image remained as the old upon reboot. Not sure if one encounters similar problem in x86 KVM? Updated: my mistake in overlooking the checkbox of snapshot being enabled. Now it is resolved but facing other problems...

The issue in modern hardware is USB support and upgrading an older version of routerOS to newer one.

I believe CHR will be easier to maintain.

x86 has very limited USB3.0 support, it will probably work only in 2.0 mode.

Will more support for USB 3.0 add? I found a mulii LAN port fanless x86 MB to replace the existing one with a noisy fan. However, it has USB 3.0 ports.

Hi, I am looking for help to install routerOS x86 on a new generation motherboard with USB 3.0 ports only. I try to adjust the BIOS but it has legacy mode. Wonder if USB 3.0 from intel is supported.

Is it ok to upgrade from 6.42rc3 to 6.42rc28?

I tried to upgrade from v21 to v24 and it caused by x86 routerOS fail to have connection. I have used sometimes to restore the older working version. The one I got at home was rc3.

An update: openwrt x86 images work as before but debian i386 images does not. Logging shows kvm error. VNC does not allow me to connect.

Will there be changed in memory limitation for routerOS x86? I know it is currently limited by 2GB. With better and 64 bits CPU available, and inexpensive and larger capacity memory available, I am looking forward to having 4GB or even more support in future.

I mean, I cannot use the console within Winbox to see the netinst message during installation. At the same time, I cannot access via VNC.
