We have a couple of their caches. I think we allocated two /30 public ranges and a /48 IPV6. Established BGP peers with the servers, and hey they work.
Also use LACP between a CRS317 and our edge.

You will not achieve 1000Mbps over wifi. Maybe +- 500Mbps on 5Ghz with a 3x3 AC card in a laptop. If you want a 1000Mbps - use an ethernet cable.

Between the two - frankly if you do no need an SFP port - I would frankly just go for the hap ac2.

What do you see if you torch the traffic? I had a similar issue but much more extreme, e.g constant 150-200Mbps of real traffic, but spikes over 20Gbps (which is impossible on a 10Gbps SFP) - these spikes did not show up in a torch, a ROS upgrade did not help either, the CPU would also spike at the ...

a "quick" fix/test would be for your ISP to provide a new subnet. If it works then you know you have a bug, if it still doesn't work you have a bug:D

Stab in the dark here - set one of the filters on one of the peers with a higher local preference - maybe as it is on the same subnet/connected route it is seen as one?

If Mikrotik could make one of those + routerOS = win. I would happily pay $1000-$1500 for dual PSU's + 24x SFP+ and a warranty.

Firstly ensure you are peering as much as possible, then secondly bandwidth is not that expensive compared to the last mile these days. Do no block content at all, it will not do you any favors. If my ISP were to block certain sites then I would immediately cancel.

Get the CCR, the arm architecture does not support UM yet.

Regarding the AP's - your client will only connect on one band at a time, but obliviously from the AP side both are running. e.g 2.4Ghz 10 clients, 5.8ghz 5 clients connected.
