Re: Manual Improvements

Case studies and examples are a big requirement in my mind, but also "Completeness" of all features and parameters. If it's an available parameter (CLI or Winbox or Webfig) it needs to be listed and documented with all "options/extensions" to that parameter, as well as a complete...

Re: v6.28 will be released this week!

I think I may have found a key to this issue... If you are "masquerading" your network behind an address using a src-nat action, everything breaks. If you are "masquerading" your network behind an address using a masquerade action, everything works. We normally use a src-nat acti...

I also would like to see an updated downloadable manual. Not nice when you need the manual, but don't have access to the internet. I realize this request is possibly crazy, but is there a way to incorporate the manual into the actual router hardware/firmware? So you have the ability to press a help ...

Revised and updated usage examples. Many of the examples and tutorial scripts are horribly outdated and some do not even work any more. Many examples also do not apply to real-world situations as they were created so long ago. Usermanager/Hotspot needs the entire manual to be ripped and replaced it ...

This really bothers me. This should not be added in any 6.x releases. This is not a "small" new feature as it probably required serious changes to the firewall coding. Stuff like this needs to be fully tested before hitting the actual release chain. The 6.28 release broke a LOT of stuff, ...

Yes I did try that as well (Both on and off configurations).

In theory that should only affect the media flow though, and not registrations correct?
My issue is with initial registrations not even happening.

Re: v6.28 will be released this week!

I hope it goes to the end of next week, or later, if it means the bugs are found and fixed. This last one with hanging CPU worries me. I really don't like new features added along with bug fixes. Ensure the bugs are dead before adding things. Most importantly though, don't add new features in RC cha...

Re: v6.28 will be released this week!

Sorry I didn't have time to do full packet captures during the times it was not working. Just too much, too fast, and too critical to leave it not running. There's nothing wrong with running SIP over NAT if you know what you're doing. It's a pain in the ass, don't get me wrong on that. But it's perfectly doable. I run hundreds of VOIP users over different NATs from different providers over different technologies. ALL work flawlessly... Except when I pu...

Re: v6.28 will be released this week!

I should also say that the router in question is a gateway and has two firewall rules that may affect this (Although they shouldn't to my knowledge) The first is a SRC-NAT rule that puts the entire network behind a single address that we own on BGP. chain=srcnat action=src-nat to-addresses=X.X.X.X s...

We require these to work VIA SNMP.

I would like to see a more granular selection of RADIUS servers. -Round Robin -Random -If unreachable for x Time/Pings -Priority list Right now there are no real controls to specify which server to use at which time, this can cause horrible problems for user accounting when you have more than 1 RADI...

I too find this behavior strange. Winbox should not be pulling any DNS from the host computer, except for the initial connection to the routerboard. Re: Feature Request - Block Country by IP Using Firewall

This would be impossible as there would need to be a central database of what IPs belong to what country, and that database would have to be set up for public query through some standard format (Which doesn't exist as far as I know). On top of this, geolocation data is not perfect either. You're bet...

We have a few units with 100+ PPPoE, I am worried to experiment with this.

Do you use RADIUS as well?
