First, I tried to upload 2.7 from 2.4 - it did not succeed:

——网络访问hung after “Upgrade” button;
- after power off/power on – it was again SwOS 2.4.
IP address of the switch did not change during this process.
Now I tried to reset the switch first:
- reset the switch according to the manual: "Hold this button during boot time longer, until LED starts to bling twice as fast, and then release it to make the device wait for TFTP firmware upgrade”;
- assigned 192.168.88.2 to my PC;
- opened the web access (192.168.88.1);
- the switch was again with SwOS 2.0;
- manually uploaded 2.7 to the switch;
- GREAT!!! Now the switch was with SwOS 2.7.
So, the trick was to RESET THE SWITCH first.
But it should not be so tricky anyway…
And here some observations:
1. Regarding obtaining the address from DHCP by default – as far as I can see, the default values after upgrading to 2.7 were:
- “DHCP with fallback”
- static = 192.168.88.1
That means that
after upgrade procedure the address will be always 88.2(if your PC is only connected to the switch, not some router with DHCP).
2. Let’s select “DHCP only” mode.
Although the router has a rule for the switch’s MAC – the switch does not obtain IP address anyway.
The previous address 192.168.88.1 is not pinged, the expected address (specified by router) is not pinged too, and I guess that the switch does not get ANY address – no DHCP leases are reported by the router.
So it seems that the
“DHCP only” mode doesn’t work.
3. The most disappointing thing –
multicast still does not work(since 2.5).
Reverted back to 2.4 (easy and not so tricky as 2.4->2.7 upgrade) – and multicast works again ))))
