ccr 1009 series CPU temperature

Thu Oct 22, 2015 2:31 pm

hello, i have a ccr1009 andthey work in a hot environment, monitoring say sometimes 50c, and cpu reach the maximium of 73c, my question is, im losing performance or lifespan of my ccr?

maybe try lowering cpu clock from 1200 to 1000mhz

passive cooling version of ccr1009 works at 1000mhz maybe that clock can help to reduce temperature

also take in mind all equipment operating temperature its a delta of ambient temperature

specs says maximum ambient operating temperature is 60C° so you are too close to that limit pushing components to their thermal limits, and anything going wrong for example a failed fan or dust accumulation will have the worst consequences.

for example in my city we have a max ambient temperature of 20C° and ccr 1009 cpu stays at 50C° so in your environment you have 30°C plus so you can expect 80°C of cpu temperature, so at maximum spec of 60°C of ambient temperature you will have 90°C on cpu. !!!:?

Personally I never leave any equipment to go beyond from 70°C at max load to ensure its reliability.

Take a example of first releases of XBOX 360 they has 85C° or more of operating temperature at load and the failing rate was very very high.

Personally I think you have to reduce temperatures some way to ensure a good longevity of your CCR no matter what specs are saying.

The xbox360 had a very serious design flaw/manufacturing issue. Which got triggered by the heat, the heat itself was not the problem.

Most modern Intel CPU's can run up to 100C without throttling as can most modern GPU's (although it's best to keep those around 80C).

The advice was still sound though. If the rated spec is 60C, keep it below that spec. Running it above that (if it doesn't start crashing) will influence expected life time.
