Speaker Profiles and Presentation Abstracts

MikroTik in carrier and ISP networks

See how MikroTik is beeing used in carrier and ISP networks

Advanced BGP Security, RTBH and LookingGlasses

Tom will Discust the following advanced BGP Security, Remote Triggered Black Holes(RTBH), BGP LookingGlasses. using advanced Routing features in ROS to implement a co-ordinated distributed response to threats. Implementing Remote Triggered Black Holes (RTBH) and deploying looking glasses to ease routing diagnostics.

MPLS Security with Mikrotik RouterOS

最初,以提高网络的转发speed and for traffic engineering applications, MPLS has rapidly evolved and enlarged its role becoming widely used as a solution for connectivity applications. Nowadays, Layer 2 and Layer 3 VPNs based on MPLS, are responsible for great part of big operators' revenue. On the other hand, small and medium telecom players can be, at the same time, users and providers of such services. Because of its intrinsic nature and topology, usually MPLS is considered as a trusted service provided by equally trusted operators. However, either configuration mistakes or malicious attacks can seriously compromise the availability of the services and also break the confidentiality and integrity of the virtual private networks. The purpose of the presentation is to give an overview of the MPLS services and its implementation on Mikrotik RouterOS, the involved concepts, common topologies and its characteristics related to security. Tools and techniques to break into a MPLS VPN will be discussed as well as the countermeasures and best practices to make such services really secure. About the presenter: Wardner Maia, Electronic/Telecommunications Engineer, technical director of MD Brasil IT & Telecom, Mikrotik Certified Trainer, member of board directors of LACNIC, the Internet Address Registry for Latin America and the Caribbean.

OSPF to the customer. Why and how.

Peering with your customers over OSPF for redundancy and load-balancing. Why, how, what about security, and what are the advantages and disadvanteges over other solutions.

How to configure MikroTik wireless system to work effectively in noisy enviroment

One of the main problems in wireless networks is how to configure and what to do to get stable connections in noisy enviroment. I would like to present the way what to do with MikroTik stuff to help MikroTik users to create stable links in noisy terrain (in both cases - outdoor and indoor solutions, because there are different ways to get the best results in mentiones cases)

Switch your RouterBoard

Almost all new RouterBoards have built-in switch chips. How can they help me? What is the cpu port? How to tag/untag vlans and configure routing between them? What else can I do? Few easy examples to understand the switch chip features.

VPLS as a Backbone

Using VPLS in ISP multi POP backbone for resiliency and scalability

QoS in RouterOs v6.x

Explore a possible solution to implement double QoS in RouterOS v6.x

Traffic Shaping

Managing the ever increasing demands of user traffic against the reality of the limited available backhaul bandwidth by using Mangle Rules, Address Lists and a PCQ powered Queue Tree

Live experiments in MikroTik powered OpenFlow network

Mikrotik is providing not only rich set of common routing protocols but also OpenFlow interface for future software defined networking. Presentation covers live experiments in Mikrotik powered OpenFlow network.

routed world

Introduction of routed world project

Anycast routing system

Out of traditional presentation Ali Sami and Haider Fadeel will have case study and live demostration on IPv6 Anycast on the global network base on ROS and this presentation will continue to Manage IPv6 on Local Local Network

Mastering SSH on MikroTik RouterOS

Using known and hidden features of SSH server inbuilt in MikroTik RouterOS. Case studies and examples.

CloudCore Switches and Routers

Description and Workshop with a new devices, usability testing and suggested applications.

Using the RB750UP as an Access Point Controller

The features of the RB750UP together with scripting enable the creation of an Access Point controller with redundant power solutions based on utility, solar or wind sources.

Wireless extreme performance with RouterOs 6

We will investigate state of the art of the wireless performance in RouterOs and see how to apply in real case.
